Michael E. O'Brien, DVM

Dr. Michael O’Brien has been resident of Modesto, CA since 1954. After graduating from Grace Davis High School in 1968, Dr. O’Brien earned an AA from Modesto Junior College and a BS from UC Davis. He then went on to graduate from UC Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine in 1976.

Dr. O’Brien then moved back to Modesto and became a partner in Maze Animal Hospital. During his 37 years of veterinary practice in Modesto, Dr. O’Brien has been providing compassionate and quality veterinary care for the dogs and cats of Modesto and the surrounding Central Valley. He has been involved in many animal welfare programs including S.A.V.E.D. (Stanislaus Area Veterinarians for the Economically Disadvantaged) and the Modesto Dog Park.

Dr. O’Brien has helped develop the level of veterinary care in the greater Modesto area by mentoring eight local veterinarians in the beginning of their careers, all who have gone on to have successful practices.
